Reviews for Top Seattle Hotels Highlight Hotel Monaco
If these walls could talk... We appreciate that so many of our guests take time to talk about their experiences at our hotel, rating Hotel Monaco among the best Seattle hotels. See what people have said about us recently:
This is a wonderful hotel-great location-very clean and so friendly. Shane at the front desk really cares and that is rare-so many front desk people just go through the motions..... Last name....credit card... Not here-this is refreshing amazing care!
We stayed here when we spent the night in Seattle on our way to Alaska via Holland America cruise lines. It's in a great location downtown and offered us a great experience into Seattle on our first ever visit there. Highly recommended.
Affordable and Superb!
We have stayed in Kimpton Hotels before and the personal, friendly service is consistent regardless of location. The Seattle Monaco was no different. Seattle hotels can be quite expensive in the summer, but the Monaco, while not cheap, was affordable and very well located. We had the entire family with us, so we needed a suite and two rooms. We were all located together, a great convenience. We only used room service once for coffee. The cost of room service everywhere is absurdly high these days. I cannot say it was great value, but it was delivered promptly. Service in the bar downstairs was very hospitable and the evening refreshments were welcome. Finally, the bell staff were great at getting our rather large group in as few taxis as possible and this on a weekend where taxis were at a premium.
Everything Is Amazing
I have stayed here multiple times on business and pleasure. Every time is amazing. The staff is always friendly and accommodating and the rooms are great. Free WiFi in the room for Kimpton's loyalty program members (sign up for free). The staff and environment always makes me feel like I'm in luxury, but without any snootyness or snobery. Plus...every night at 5 pm they have wine hour, which makes for a perfect starter to the evening events :) I have also stayed here with my 3yr old son and this place is great for kids. They greet him with a little plush toy upon entering and always have his kid's leopard print robe ready next to mine. To top it all off, they give him a pet goldfish in the room that he always gets a kick out of.
Close To Everything in Seattle
I am a huge fan of Kimpton properties and this one did not disappoint. The room was super spacious even with all of our stuff from being on the road for five weeks. Super cozy bed and there was even a little walking/running guide for guests. The location is great as it is easy walking distance to all you want to see and do yet not right in the middle of it all so it stays relaxing/peaceful. We booked on line months in advance as we were traveling from overseas for a long holiday and got such a low rate for 4 nights for a total steal. I will definitely stay here again if I'm ever back in Seattle.
Pet Friendly & Perfect
The rooms are clean, the location is perfect (close to Pike Place and shops, but still easy to drive to Alki Beach, etc), and the service was impeccable. A really nice value added option was the 50 cents for either drinks or breakfast (we picked breakfast) that you can opt into at check in. They served us hot croissants, juices, teas, fresh fruit, etc. Also, we traveled with our little dog and they were so nice-they left her dog treats and a water bowl in the room and offered to doggy-sit her (first hour free, nominal fee thereafter). I would go back in a heartbeat!!!!
Our Kids Loved It!
We couldn't say enough about our stay at this hotel. Our kids loved it! The goldfish in the room was a big hit, as were the free milk and cookies, free toy chest, and free movie! They got a kick out of the animal print bathrobes. While not being a "kid hotel", they make kids feel very special. From an adult perspective, the lobby is beautiful, the rooms are nicely done and clean, the staff is great, the complimentary wine hour is a nice touch, the attached restaurant was great, and the location is awesome. Bravo-Kimpton has figured it out!
Staff Are Excellent
We spent three great nights at the Monaco. Location is very good, on 4th Avenue, which puts it a few blocks from Elliott Bay (but then just about everything is a few blocks off the bay, since the freeway viaduct runs along the bay). The best part was the staff. They were excellent in all respects-well trained, knowledgeable and helpful. Room 501 was large and comfortable, although it had a "view" of the building across the alley. Air conditioning was a bit weak, but that was fixed by having a fan sent up. (We found the return air filter needed to be changed.) Evening wine and hors d'oeuvres were good. Restaurant was very good. We'll be back.
Excellent Food, Service and Quality
My husband, our 20-month-old daughter and I stayed here for three nights and had a wonderful time! All of the staff was wonderful and accommodated all of our requests immediately! Our daughter loved the fish 'Lucia' that we had in our room. It was a fun touch! We also ate at the restaurant in the lobby twice and the food was excellent! The room service was a little over priced, but we only ordered dessert. The location was great as we were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go in Seattle.
Service Was Something Sweet!
From the moment our car pulled up to the sidewalk, to the check in, which took less than one minute, service at this hotel was something sweet. Room was comfortable and nice, great amenities, excellent room service breakfast without having to go to an ATM machine or getting a mortgage on the house, this place is a great value. Close to downtown shopping and restaurants. We would definitely stay here again!
Friendly, Clean & Spacious
We have stayed at the Hotel Monaco in Salt Lake City a couple times. So when I found out we had to get a hotel in Seattle for a night I was pleased to see there was a Hotel Monaco downtown. We were not disappointed. We were greeted by friendly staff and the room was clean and spacious. The hotel is located within walking distance of many downtown Seattle sights. We are looking forward to trying out Kimpton properties in other cities.
Incredible Value and Wonderful Service
We recently stayed 6 nights with 3 adult children (2 rooms) for vacation. I cannot think of anything I did not like about this place. Conveniently located to practically everything, we were able to walk everywhere, including the Amtrak station to catch our train. All the employees were friendly and helpful, especially the turn down service woman... Get a goldfish delivered to your room, even if you think it's silly. You'll be amazed how attached you can get to a goldfish! The rooms are spacious (we had a king suite and a queen) with plenty of places to sit besides just the bed. The beds are comfortable, clean, and the water pressure in the shower is amazing! I love the full size shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel pump bottles in the shower. Not having to fumble with tiny bottles and caps is nice. We never seemed to be around for the wine reception (so much to do!), but did have breakfast one morning in the hotel restaurant and it was very good. The value of the rooms, especially with the AAA rate, was excellent. I've stayed in many hotels not nearly as nice for more money. I will not hesitate to stay here again if I am in Seattle.
